I wish this was a world where everything that came out could be ours for free. But this is a material world, and everyone wants more money. Everyone thinks that more money means more power. But what will happen when you die? All you worked for is lost, and then you start a new life in whereever you believe you go(for me, heaven).

2 points to make here. 1) Money backed by gold. This entirely depends on what country you live in. Here in the United States, we stopped backing our money by gold in the late 1920's, after setting up the Federal Reserve. If you looked at money back then, you'd see "Redeemable for gold". If you look at your money now, you'll see it says "Legal Tender". That's right, "Tender", it's paper money, not backed by anything. The only value in it is that people actually think it's valuable, and the amount of it produced determines its value. The federal reserve loans its money to the government, and expects repayment with interest. This means that the government is in debt to the privately owned Federal Reserve, and every penny that pays back that loan goes right into the pockets of the big bankers that own it, like J.P. Morgan and Rockefeller. So how does the government pay back its loans and interest? The loans it pays back by taxing you - something called the Federal Income Tax, which is unconstitutional (because it's an unapportioned tax), wasn't ratified by enough states, and is optional. But if you don't pay it, the men with big guns come after you. So how do they pay the interest? They take out another loan, of course! Creating even MORE DEBT! This is the beauty of inflation in the US. As for if money can buy happiness or not, a new study came out recently saying not only that money can buy happiness, but they gave dollar values for each gender. For woman, it was about $3,000. for men, it was $150 a night, or $300 for 2 nights (hahaha). Actually recent studies done in Australia have shown that money can't really buy happiness. Furthermore, we've also found that rich white men who are at the top tend to have the highest risk of committing suicide. Why? Sociology suggest that it's because they have nobody to turn to. They don't want to look weak, so they can't turn to anybody, so they commit suicide.

NeoPsychic has aptly said.
It depends on two things really. One is what makes you happy. Two is does acquring that object/thing bring you true happiness? If the answer to the second one truly resonates well with you then you can be sure that money brings you happiness.
