Fear

I listened to a 4 part series from Rush called "Fear". And, just as the old man that told Neil Peart(lyricist), I agree on this, that our life is ran upon fear. Some would say "I'm not like that!"
Instead of being ran upon greed, money, power, love, it's all run by fear. Example, a very powerful man has tons of power. He doesn't give any of the low class power, because he's afraid of being over thrown too easily.
I actually sat here and thought about it, and I believe that's how most of our life is ran by. What do you think?

I agree, though I cannot find much more to add. Quite amazing how much power fear has though.
Even I am controlled quite a bit by my fears, though I try to remove what I fear from the list of fearful things in my life.

Yes, but with fear comes respect. The man doesn't give money because he wants them to fear him, therefore to do what he says.
I think everyone has fears to some extent, but we will all be able to overcome them, sometime. Hopefully. Because, I have closterphobia and the fear of hights.

But in your example greed came before the fear of being thrown over. He first was greedy for power and got attached to it when he got it. therefor he was afraid to give it away. But why did he become greedy for power? that would indeed be fear for for example people looking down on you instead of looking up to you. Which leads me to the conclusion that it would have a more possitive effect to help people get over their insecurities and apparent lack of self respect than immediately blaming someone for egoism.

well, you are right because no one is never afraid...and i mean no one!! i am scared of darkness,if the house is closed and no windows near me are open, scared of my closet because i just think something lives in there... maybe you are afraid of death, other hight, other are afraid of water..fear is a human instinct,it can paralize you and might also produce adrenaline which would speedn up the heart beat which will increase your ability to answer back to some situations say"an old man walking in the street, and he walks reallly slow..a car coming and then he looks at it,the fear increases the adrenaline, increasing heart beat..which possibly will make him do a long jump..",,, other possibilities are:he got paralized from fear/the car was so fast he got hit...

Well, I'm kind of scared of darkness too. But not much of any more. It was mostly from just my mind playing tricks on me. It is kind of scary still though. You never know about this world anymore. Heck, there could be someone with a sniper right outside my window waiting for me to get off of the computer to shoot me in the head. I have a fear that I may not live to be at least 21. But, since I fear it, I respect it.

Well, I know there is. But I don't think it's paranoia. I'm not paranoid, just I have a fear that I won't. But, I may be wrong, everyone may be wrong, and we might live forever, who knows?

Well yeah, it might be a paranoia. Take a look at 'The Enemy Within' by Rush for example (plus I'm writing a story based on it), you have a paranoia over things that you believe is actually there, but it's just your mind.
