Are you describing shapeshifting by visualization?

I have been following my shamanic path for many years...and you can visualize shapeshifting with an animal/bird...etc..guide, and experience the feeling of flying...running...etc..

It is said that in some rituals even today, there are those shamans who can actually shapeshift.

Neither of these examples are considered 'otherkin" in any way though.

The mythology of Ireland speaks of the Tuathe de Dannon, who were celerstial beings more or less. Some of these beings and humans married and had children. The children had powers of the beings. Some considered them basically otherkin...though this definition was in error. Or, one term is Fey...which basically means a person has special powers.

It would not be considered visualization, because I do not "see" it, I feel if, I know it is there. Like how you know your arm is there. you do not need to visualize your arm. I feel my energy body, and when I focus energy into my arm, I feel it change. I can visualize, and see the changes occur, but visualization is not needed. It takes the force of will to not have my arm change while I move energy through it.

So, no I do not believe it is shapeshifting through visualization. I do not wish to find a classification for what i am, because using terms sets up a predetermined mindset for people to think about me. If you really think you can classify me though, please pm me, because I always believe there is something for me to learn of this.

I think it depends what you define as otherkin. It might not be so unrealistic to someone who believes in the concept of reincarnation. I think its possible if someone was a wolf in a past life, or for several, then born into a human body, could feel an affinity with wolves, like they are one, thinking they are a werewolf or something. And there are many possibilities besides earth, you have creatures in the astral dimension and there is always the possibility of aliens. Kind of far out I know, but it makes you think.
