As Wisteria sat, sitting in the Seiza position in front of her table, drinking her herbal tea, she noticed a door. A door she had never noticed. She had only lived there for only three weeks but this was an apartment, a bit too small to be called an apartment but an apartment it was . “There is no possible way this is a real door,” she adamantly told herself as she flipped her long, raven, dark hair from her dark eyes. She thought it was an elaborate joke, her slightly playful roommate might have pulled before she left for a quick visit home the previous night. She stared at the wooden sliding door, hoping some clue as to what may lie behind the wooden veil. Something wasn’t right, something told her it wasn’t supposed to be here. “But what could it be,” she quailed. She thought for a moment with her finger stroking her chin thoughtfully and finally concluded, “maybe I was moved to a different room and this is a thousand-and-one Arabian Night story.” Deciding it was this, she placed her cup on the table, arose, and turned to return to her bed but the door to the room was replaced with that mysterious door. No mistaking that red stain in the bottom left corner, it was the same door. She closed her eyes, hoping it was a dream, but alas, as she opened them she was greeted with the same door that held an intriguing Pandora’s box feel. She sat down to think again, reaching for the tea to help her think. Nothing, she looked to confirm it. The tea was gone, not even a ring as to show it had ever been. This was definitely weird, she looked at her surroundings to see if anything else had been changed. Shocked, she realized there was nothing in this room, only the table… and that door, the door that slides on an oiled track. “Nowhere but forward,” she thought. As she stood up, a cold sweat broke out and the light seemed to fade as she strode towards the door. She was starting to have second thoughts, but she persevered. Finally, only a breadth’s width from the door, she felt tingles all over her body, making her shiver. Her hand, of its own accord, flashes to the engraved handle and slides the door open with a slight sound as it completes opening. The portal now opened, reveals nothing, for the light doesn’t penetrate but the feel of a great, astounding, infinite vast is overwhelming. Suddenly arms of darkness come out and wrap their arms around her, swaddling her and pulling her in. Screaming, Wisteria is pulled in, and then suddenly… She awakens to her familiar bed and familiar world and thank-goodness familiar smell of her favorite drink….
