i make a lot of posts and sometimes i can't remember where they are. so i was thinking that there could be a "follow this topic" button. when you click it, every time something is post in that thread, when you login there would be a message saying that a post has been made in it, and then it would take you to it.

I have no control over that. This forum is a hosted forum and the guy who hosts it controls everything.

No I didn't. There are two different sites to the Psi World.
The first site is proboards.com. They provide forums, blank ones that you fill in with your sections, get the colors the way you want it, any it what you want and so on. They give the admin a certain amount of control over the boards, but nothing too much. All of this is free.
The second site is freewebs.com. They provided the pages for all the articles, front page, guestbook, shoutbox and so on. They give a lot more power to the admin to control what goes on there.
I don't have the skills to "make" a site and after trusting someone to make me a site *coughMattcough* and that person left me and never contacted me, I won't trust anyone to make a site for me again. So I turn to sites that host free sites and forums.

Are pay-for forums more controllable and customizable? I think you can edit the XTML and HTML in payable ones.
