I think it would be nice to have a stickyed thread for aspiring Psions to find people who will individually mentor them on their desired abilities. They could fill out forms that could include their intrests, what they're looking for in a mentor/willing to teach to a student, level of seriousness, level of experience, what type of messenger they want to converse over, ect. Or, if there aren't enough avalible mentors, there could possibly be a buddy system. Two new psions with similar interests and experience levels could be paired up and assist each other, letting one another know things that they found useful/interesting and whatnot on a daily basis. The reason I think this would be useful is because I personally am very un-modivated unless I have something/someone to work for/toward. I know there are alot of other people like that, who may loose interest unless they have someone to share their new aspirations with. Also, it is one of the best ways for people to learn, and several people are seeking teachers. *Prods the shoutbox* =) Thanks for considering, Karen.

Hells, it couldn't hurt. I rather like the idea, myself. Although I think we're likely to get a forum spammed with requests for teachers, and maybe four or five teachers. XD But hey, if(teachers==willing to take on multiple students||teachers>I'm expecting); then maybe teaching board!=bad idea. ^_^ Then again, who cares what I think? I'd certainly apply if it were there. *Still needs to learn astral projection >_<*

The idea is a good one, considering there are many beginners who seem to have trouble; This would be a great help, in my opinion.

Good idea. I would find the working together rather nice. I have a hard time teaching things, and a hard time applying knowledge, but I can come up with new ways of doing things quite easily.

Good idea, good idea. When the student knows enough, He can become a mentor. So to keep te system in movement.

This does seem like a good idea. It could only help, and it might just get some more people interested in psi. I'm all for it.

I'm all for it, and though I'm far from perfect, I'd be more than happy to help teach you young'uns. I love developing new ideas, techniques, and theories. This would be an opportunity to really spread people's techniques and abilities on a 1 on 1 basis. Students learn from teachers... And vice versa.

hmm...I guess you all want it that bad. Ok, how would we work this? Who can be a mentor? Why? How do we pick them? How do students go about asking? give me details.

You can hand pick your most trusted members of the site you think are ready for it. Just my own opinion.

I think that there should be volunteers for mentoring. If the volunteers are not well known around the site/recognized for being very skilled at psi then they should have to apply, given a form such as:
Age: Psi Abilities: What you're interested in teaching: Give an example of how you would breifly teach someone any given skill: What messanger programs you have: Are you very strict or would you be mentoring "just for fun"?: How many people are you willing to mentor?: Any prefference in personality or skill level of your student?:
Etc.
Students could apply with a simaliar form, and have an pre-assigned person who will pair them with a mentor that will be acceptable for their skill, intrests, and level of modivation. That person will then privately ask the teacher if they would like to mentor the individual person, and if they say that they would, then the student can be notified of their now being mentoredness. =) And then it can continue as the two desire.
And yeah.. I suggest that not all students should be given a mentor 'since we probably won't have enough mentors for that. So-- there should 'prolly be guidelines.. like.. no negative karma points (with possible exceptions made for justified cases), must follow all rules, have been on the site for a certian amount of time (Perhaps a week or two?), must have contributed to threads other than the general chat.. ect.. so we don't go on a student-overload and make our teachers "@___@" =D
