ok heres the thing..empathy is not always great as jedi Karen has mentioned. Im a ntural at empathy and often wish i wasnt, it is often discomforting feeling past emotions of rooms you have never been in...feeling the pain and sorow of the person next to you...being an empath (my word for some one who can do empathy) you often feel open to the feelings of the world around you and believe me this is not a good thing..

I know how it feels.Most of the time I feel like crap carrying around other peoples emotions.Just meditate and you'll gain more control of your empathy.

I think I may be nuts for liking it, and for dealing with it the way I like to. Now maybe this might change now that someone has gotten me to finally get the hang of shielding, but if I can name what is bothering a person and can do something about it I will. Talk to them, line them up with some help from others if I can't deal with it myself... whatever works. Unless it's just crowding doing it. In that case, I fumble with my makeup badly and I don't wanna go back to the party till my eyeliner doesn't let make me look like a mess. Haha, I think I'm better at using makeup to cover up grounding than any breakout.

Hang in there, it will get better. And perhaps one day, you will be able to look back on the days you wished it would go away and wonder why you said that.

Shielding is not easy for everyone. I finally got the hang of shielding less than a week ago, and I've been dealing with being an empath and the problems that go with it since before my freshman year of high school. Even if you find yourself to be one of those who doesn't take to shielding easily, it's not like you lack alternatives. Talk to people. Listen to their problems. If nothing else works, leave the situation.

exactly shielding is not always easy for everyone, you might be a great psion but lack the art of shielding.

But, he did say that there are also many other ways to protect yourself...I don't know any of them, but thewn again I am pretty good a shielding.

It is helpful by the way to learn to shield really good before you do any telepathy, or empathy. I suppose if you're a natural it doesn't count, but many naturals choose to train and expand their abilities. DO NOT do this until you've gotten good at shielding.

I know how to improve it, but I'm in such a negative atmosphere everyday its increadibly hard to keep them out... Everywhere I go I feel like (pardon me) darn.

sounds horrible im not really into empathy much dont see the point of feeling someones emotions other than to give them sympathy.
