ok heres the thing..empathy is not always great as jedi Karen has mentioned. Im a ntural at empathy and often wish i wasnt, it is often discomforting feeling past emotions of rooms you have never been in...feeling the pain and sorow of the person next to you...being an empath (my word for some one who can do empathy) you often feel open to the feelings of the world around you and believe me this is not a good thing.. what kind of emotional people are you around..? |

Because then they realise that you do that and then they use you Most do.Some just want you to carry their weight all the time tiring you out. Exactly. Some people are just naturally drawn to us because we're some of the only people who are willing to listen to their complaining/problems. Then, when they realize that we actually listen, they think,"Hey, they're actually paying attention. I'm going to unload all of my problems on them! Whoot!" Or something to that effect. In the end, THEY'RE happy and calm now that they've got their problems off their chest and WE'RE bogged down by someone else's issues and emotions.  |

empathy is good, at times, it helps you with tricky conversation, you feel how the other person is feeling and you can alter your approach accordingly.
empathy is usually kinda overburdening, so ground and shield, just like brushing your teeth, every night and every morning.

You were given the gift for a reason so use it. Think of the good and block the bad. If you sulk about it's bad parts you can't get past that and you've closed your mind off anythign good.

you could always absorb the pain of others that always seems to be the thing i do to help others but in a sort of defensive way absorbing emotions is the same as absorbing psi you can use it to your advantage
