I have yet another question for you guys. This is about empathy. Has this happend to any of you guys?
A couple of years ago, I was on a religious retreat (This was back when I was wicked religious) and one night, we had this huge service. There were over 2,000 teenagers there. Anyway, some were hysterically sobbing, some were laughing out loud, some were yelling stuff, and other were crying silently...and because I didn't know how to shield, I felt ALL OF THIS AT THE SAME TIME...and it just became too much, and I passed out. I was apparantly out cold for about twenty minutes.
Has this happend to any of you guys? Like you feel SO much emotion at once, and you pass out, or just go into shock or something?

Im not even sure why most empaths seem to have overloads like this. I can only feel what I choose to feel and I am not even a natural empath(so far as i know). I wonder why all these people expierence things like this from crowds and I don't.

natural empaths are far more open to overloads seeing how they feel all emotions and have to work in order block out certain unwanted information.
I've never gotten to the point of fainting, but I have gotten very overwhelmed. Learn how to shield and how to ground (there are articles about both on the main site)

I can shield now, (Back then, I didn't know I was an empath, and therefore I didn't know how to shield.) I'm not the best at shielding though. But I am getting better, and am now much better than I was.

I've never gotten to the verge of passing out, but I've becomed pretty overwhelmed, like JK said. One of my more unpleasant overloads happened in the middle of a family gathering. I got lightheaded, jittery, had a hard time controlling my self from shaking and I couldn't sit still. But definitely keep working on grounding and sheilding. I've gotten the hang of grounding, but I'm still working on shielding. Good luck ^^

I've never fainted, but I feel overload when I'm on places with many people. E.g. in the city, especially now at x-mas time, all the stress and feelings just makes me dizzy and confused....

I had an overload were i blacked out once that wasn't fun because when i woke up i still was in a state of overload. I was an emotional wreck when it happened, also to exhausted to put up a sheild or ground myself.
