Hey Guys!
Im here for some advice on re-opening my sensitive and empathic side. Basically, since an accident a couple years ago involving somebody i loved and cared about, i shut down alot of my emotions and havent greived since recently. Now that ive gotten back into training, ive noticed that im not as sensitive and open to people's emotions as i was before.
I didnt notice it before because i just kinda ignored anything to do with psionics for a long while because it brought up to many memories but i have to face it now. But i dont know what im going to do. I was naturally empathic, so it came to me easily before and didnt have to put any effor into it. So, yeah does anyone have any advice or suggestions for me.
Thanks.

i was, or am, having the same problem as you. i was having an exam and personal pressure with all the things that concerns me, my empathic ability has shut down for a little while.
but when i feel the need to re-activate it, it will activate. trust me, i was having the same problem as you are having now.
what is important is that you know how to use the energy waves to connect with people. you may not be able to read emotions, but you will still be able to sense energies from the surrounding... that shows that your sensory capability is still active.
i'll try and help you as much as i can so here is my email. empathy_eric@hotmail.com
mail me about your progress okay? =)
take care now. eric

Hey elimoon19,
Thanks for the advice, i will be sure to email you. Im currently feeling very disconnected from the world and its getting quite hard to deal with. Im going to be mentoring someone soon, so i need to get my sensitivity back. Hopefully, like you said it will re-activate when i need it, which there hasnt been a situation yet for when i needed it.
Everything feels so empty. When i close my eyes and open up, its so quiet and it feels like im the only one around.

keep trying. dont worry. if you're a natural empath, you would know when it will come back.
try sensing someone in a train or in a bus or try to connect with animals. try to pick up any signs or energies from others.
its quite to just retrieve back the ability when it has been long shut down. you need to go back to baby steps again and once you feel that you can sense others, try as hard as you can to keep on practicing until your empathy is able to pick up emotions again.
BASIC matter: sensory. get your sensory into working first. =)
good luck~

Thanks again elimoon19, ill be sure to go back to baby steps, not that i remember all that well when i first realised when i had this ability (was quite some time ago). Anyway, i think it is slowly coming back. I started to sense people coming in and out of rooms again. Yay!

Its still there. There could also be a what is called a psychic or energy blockage (some even say charka) that sometimes stops our abilites or so. Sometimes it takes a while to reactivate. Either way you could try, possibly, working with your own energy if there is a blockage. I mean that's the only real advice I can say. Part of it be psychological because, well if I said "it's all in your mind" I am not sure you would entirely understand, but I don't know how else to put it.

I understand what you mean. And have you noticed that our names our kinda the same? Ill be certain to get somebody to look for energy blockages.
Thanks!

This 'shutting down' is a normal occurance, just the same as when the mind is coping with a traumatic experience a person may have had, the loss of a family member, close friend or even a course of events that are beyond the norm of what one usually has to cope with.
The same thing happened to me when my husband died, He had been ill for about 3 years, in and out of hospital, had a liver transplant and died 10 months later.
My coping mechanism shut down and my brain shut off sections of memory until I could cope with it again.
What happens basically is that so much is going on in your life, that you can't deal with anyone's elses problems, so that part shuts down until your life levels out a little bit.
You'll know when it's time..because...basically..your brain..turns on those sections again and you look at things with a new perspective.

Yes, this certainly seems like the body's natural defense against extreme stress and trauma. It is perfectly natural. All you need to do is go back to the beginning, work through all the newbie exercises for empathy and stuff, and gradually your ability will come back.
