When you go to the movies and you watch a scary moment maybe or a Peacful moment (ill use the scary one for an example cause its easier to descibe.) and you get that feeling your scared like, "Oh...OHH.... NO.... Dont turn the corner Its right there! omg omg omg omg omg!" (I dont really act like that in a movie, I enjoy scary films.) is this a form of empathy because your feeling scared cause the character in the movie is scared?

I don't think so I think its more a combination of the movie stirring up your emotions and everyone else's, you feeling other peoples emotions on top of that and it amplifies everything.
The directors are really good at what they do, they probably have a good understanding in human psychology etc. Just like a good artist knows how to stir up certain emotions in people through their art.

Right AnimalGurl. The character in the film isn't actually experiencing those emotions anyway. She is just pretending to exhibit said emotion.

Even though the actors are simply pretending, the other people in the audience are really getting either scared or nervous or tense. That's probably what you'd be picking up on.

No you can not pick up on an emotion that was felt in the the past and then watched on tv, but empaths find that strongly emotional movies will make the empath feel that emotion. But this is not empathy directly, just a side effect of being hyper sensitive to emotions.

Yes it is empathy! However it's not Psychic empathy as much as Psychological Empathy.
To empathise in a non-psychic way is merely to put yourself in the other persons shoes, just a stronger form of sympathy. This believe it or not is what the word empathy originally meant, just someone has picked it up and attached it to the psychic/psionic ability to which it closely associates.
