I was wondering if there was a way to shut down the body,and remain in a trance to project?

I think this is a sorta stupid question...But ill try and help...with my own experience
I tranced out one night....body and mind shut off...i recived a phonecall (ignored it ) and was still in a trance and pulling out of the body...I ended up Obeing
But lay still in the trance...and then pull yourself out..Thats all i can really give you...Your basicaly asking how to obe...
