by gathering energy could you aid astral projection?(if your lacking energy or if you want to reach a higher vibrational stage)

In the gateway experience made by Robert Monroe he teaches a technique to gather energy and I THINK Im not sure if it raises your vibrational stage.
The technique is basic, you do deep breathing and when you inhale you visualize new/white energy going into your head and when you exhale you visualize old used up energy leaving your body....later he tells you to visualize the energy in your head going up like a fountain and down creating a shield a.k.a REBAL (Resonance Energy Balloon) (which is supposed to protect you)
In my opinion i think it does help to raise your vibrational stage since your refueling with new energy...
