No, both have always existed. All universes have. The physical universe has gone through an infinite number of cycles of "Big Bangs" and "Big Crushes." Eventually, our universe will stop expanding and slowly contract in on itself until it's in the state it was in before the Big Bang. Then, it'll asplode again. The astral doesn't do that, thankfully, but it's similar to the physical in that they've both always existed.
Note: This is my personal theory, but it's supported by science and my own religious beliefs, so it has to be right. ^_^ everyone knows that if I say something's true, it automatically is.
