yea you just need to keep practicing. i have tried to ap for several months now and i have only gotten to the vibrational stage twice. except like two nights ago when i was half asleep, i felt a little vibration. but i was too tired to care anyway.

Ive tried to ap several times and about 25% of the time when ive consentrated long enough i can feel the boundaries of my bodie outside my body, and i get this weightless floating feeling all i do to achieve this is put on extremely soothing music and consentrate on my breathing
once my breathing is set in a patern i begin to visualise my "astral" body floating out with each breath as i breathe out i try to keep it up and i repeat this cycle(seeing as ive only been doing this for a month im getting alot of reasults compared to what i expected)
ALSO MUI MUI IMPORTANTE: if you start feeling like someone is grabing you and pulling you and it feeling like your floating dont lose focus as this is partialy what your aming for getting excited or scared will waste all your preparations and you will need to restart

winterheart: That's very true too. AP beginners tend to tense up and get scared when they feel themselves lighten. Some people never get over the beginner stage no matter how old they get. You are correct about maintaining the focus. Continuing to hold the focus will get them up over the hump. Another common problem is fear that you won't return to your body. Don't worry...you will. The important things I stress to people and my students...is get your meditation skills down pat first before you try to AP. When you practice meditating, you will eventually feel yourself getting lighter. You need to be in the Alpha state...this is the same state you are in when watching tv, listening to music, daydreaming and driving. Your mind is not stressed...Learning how to meditate effectively doesn't happen in an hour, a day, a week or a month. It takes time. There are many different meditation techniques. They are all primarily just guidelines, you have to build a technique that works for you...and that can take awhile. Once you learn how and are familiar with the different feelings/sensations....then it is like riding a bicycle. Once you learn how, you never forget. Some techniques sound long and drawn out, and some are, but they don 't have to be..once you learn how to meditate effectively and get used to the different sensations you will experience, then the time required for meditation is much less...as it basically, just becomes natural to slip in and out of the meditative state, if you practice frequently. Centering, grounding and shielding come into play too. These are your "safety nets". Gee... I didn't mean to write a book...I just warmed to my subject...lol. I know this an AP thread...but you have to be successful at walking/meditating before you can run/AP

Jupen, I think that all you really need is more practice. I have been practicing astral projection for several months now and I still can't project whenever I want to. I've managed it before, but even I need a lot more practice before it can happen instantaneously. I have only done it a handful of times, and then only when I am in a sleep-like / meditative state. So my suggestion is to get pretty good at meditation, and then meditate a few times every day and try to project each time as soon as you get relaxed.
Also, try reading the mindscape thread, posted near the top of this Astral Projection board. It is very interesting, talks about what the mindscape is and how to get to it. I have found that the absolute easiest way to project is by meditating, going to my mindscape, and then trying one of the many exit techniques, such as rolling-out. If I do an exit technique while in the mindscape, I can get to the astral plane almost immediately.

Yeah, you just need more practice. Just keep at it, and you'll be out eventually. It may take some time, but at some point you'll get it. Don't worry.
