Fear and hostility...

I'm sure everybody has seen the X-Men movies and cartoons. while these are just venues for entertainment, you can't deny that there is a ring of truth to the messages behind them. If psionics were to come forward with their abilities, do you think the events of the movies and cartoons would come to pass? People have a tendancy to fear what they don't understand, and hate waht they fear. Would it be a wise decision of the Psionic community to come forward?

i think if and when psiconics is revealed there will be panic and there will be anger and eventually it could be deemed illegal to perform it without a licence or a way for the government to controll it. i personally think it would be smart to keep psiconics on te down low we wouldnt want to make problems for ourselfs would we.

I don't think this should be a total secret, but I do think people would take it badly if we were very open about this. I think we should keep a low profile, but try to raise awareness about this energy and what people can do with it.

especialy with all the crazy things going on today in this world. they could say like there terrorists or treason or something like that. maybe somday in the future when we come to accept one another as one race and one people.

agreed. There is so much diversity in the world already. If psionics were to fully come out, it would most likely create another diversity to seperate us. In truth, I think there is a generally large amount of people who know of psi in some way. They either choose to ignore or deny it exists, call it evil, or accept it and don't care. Psionics coming out all the way would show the world that we are out there and may have positive effects, but the way how our society is today leads me to conclude that more bad would come than good.

i guess what im trying tosay is the worldisnt ready yet. and by coming out to the world horrible things could happen. i mean it couldcause another holocaust and no that is no were near an extreme idea, it is extremely possible.the best time for us toreveal ourselfs would be during the next rennisance if there will ever be another one. and should we decide to come out we would have to be strong together and support each other. who knows they might consider people who practice psi as a threat to society theres no limit to the danger it could cause, i know it sounds scary but its the truth...

did you hear about the tazering of a ucla student ... just imagine if he was into psi, and they were against psi. you see he problem would not be with the youth, because the youth are open minded they understand and can try to relate but the old are ignorant.

im only going to say this once, by showin up and suddenly blasting a bunch of deamons into tiny little pieces are you really going to be promoteing good things?! you might save a life but everyone else who sees this will more then likely run or attempt to kill you. like shadow said, that wich people do not understand is either destroyed or dummyed down to the point of nothing to be understood out of it.

xmen and everything.. sadly it would take quite a while to get that good with kinetics/ psi / what ever point being is the idea behind it isnt far from the truth but the hole story in itself is a problem maticial equasion that must be carefully solved.

Umm... psi isn't exactly hidden and people do judge other badly basec on their usage of psi?

just do this little experiment - go up to any random stranger (someone you do not know and don't nessisarily expect to meet again) and ask for a moment of their time. Tell them you believe in psychic ability, and not only that that you beleive you have the capacity to train psychic abilities. ask them then what they think.

because they are unwilling/unable to accept the existance of psi they don't fear it... they fear you. if psi abilities became commonplace known to exist by all, and believed by all...

I seriously doubt the situation would be the same assuming good information was passed around involving psi. the religious would have the biggest problem with it - and the easiest way to fix their problems in most cases is to just throw their religion back in their faces (are there _any_ religions that are actually against psi? I havn't found any. )

by the time that psi is known and believed by all I think there will be more psychics than non-psychics... It's hard to be prejudiced against psychics when your (insert mom, dad brother sister, distant cousin or whatever here) is one... and harder still when you realize it's not the ability you lack merely the training.

agreed the problem is people dont have good traning when it comes to these matters. i do what i can at vega's site, but im one person i try not to let people down the best i can but even i am human and can fail to find information. what ticks me off the most is when i ask someone who knows more on the subject then i do for some help and they dont want to give out the info. im not knocking them but it would be nice if they could get over themselfs for 5 seconds and share a piece of info or two. though i would just do a google search if there wasnt so much bs of d@d around. {where its true on some scores its drasticly wrong on others}
