It's a worm, not a virus. May I suggest clearing your cookies and cache. An easy way of doing something like that is downloading 'ccleaner'. that program rocks. Or, the makeshift way: Tools>Internet options and clear from there. If you are using IE7 (which is recommended to those of you out their who haven't got it yet), just click tools>delete browsing history. clear it all.
1. Download spybot, install, update, immunize, run. 2. Download avast (or use your current virus scanner if you wish) and do a serious through scan of these folders specifically: C:\Documents and Settings\, C:\WINDOWS . (The reason I mentioned avast, is because it removes worms/viruses much much better than norton, mcafee and avg).

what about adaware? That works great and its also freeware. I have nod32 antivirus and peergaurdian2 (freeware IP blocker). With those three I have gone almost a year without a single virus. I would try ad ad-aware. I installed avast on my grandpa's comp and it still got a virus!
JK: I recommend you Limewire an antivirus and install ad-aware. Or just go buy new virus protection.

Cleaning your cookies and Cache will erase the small packets of date that remember certain things like password and email address also small packets of info that could of been put there by the spyware. If you are using Mozilla Firefox which I'm sure Karen is, just hit tools, Clear Private Data... Clear cookies Cache browsing history, saved passwords. and it SHOULD rid you of the tipical myspace Virus. If not downloading special software like spybot might help with the problem.

well I hate clearing my saved passwords, but I guess it has to be done. I use both foxfire for looking at sites and IE for hotmail.

Spybot is more of a program that takes down spyware/adware, and it does a better job then any other spyware-destroying program out there. what about adaware? That works great and its also freeware. I have nod32 antivirus and peergaurdian2 (freeware IP blocker). With those three I have gone almost a year without a single virus. I would try ad ad-aware. I installed avast on my grandpa's comp and it still got a virus! JK: I recommend you Limewire an antivirus and install ad-aware. Or just go buy new virus protection. Hint-hint, just because you have a certain virus scan, it doesn't mean you aren't gonna get a virus. You are gonna get viruses no matter what dude, wether you like it or not, but avast is MUCH quicker on finding the viruses. And, the ip blockers or firewalls, another hint, they are not that effective, and even the most powerful ones(such as the most powerful linux firewall) can easily be broken through.

And, the ip blockers or firewalls, another hint, they are not that effective, and even the most powerful ones(such as the most powerful linux firewall) can easily be broken through. I recommend ip blockers like peergaurdian2 and protowall for downloading stuff of the web. They block like 7 million ip address, including government and large corporation packets. It's just simple protection. Doesn't allow certain connections to be made, there for no bad programs sent. It might be little overkill in this situation though >.>

It's not like routers today don't have a firewall.

well after doing something, not entirely sure what the virus had stopped spreading itself to everyone and now my AVG virus scanner has found as of now, 13 viruses. Hmm interesting to say the least.
