Paul (friend) and I are are argueing if psion is a real word. I was taught psion on PsiPog's chatroom and in articles. Paul says that word doesn't exist in any dictionary, which is true. But new words can be added if enough people use them. Anyway please answer it.

i use psion because i feel it includes everything about "pyschic" things, energy manipulation ETC whereas to me pyschic makes me think of talking to spirits and that kinda thing,

Psychics are based more on the Gypsy things, or the seance's, etcetera. Psion I believe started after the kinetic abilities became mainstream.

Interesting. Well we'll see the results in a few years...maybe it will get into the dictionary.

Also, the root of psion is psionicist, which evolved into psionic and psion later.

well im a psion for life, as well as a magiction. lol , all the abilites are psychic abilites but a psion is a bit difference to a psychic, just the way they think. a psion just cares if it works, not how it works. a psychic is the opposite, but of course cares if it works, but they have a btter understanding about universal laws, like karma etc.
but yeahm i call myself a psion, regardless

I tend to think of the word psychic as refering to someone whose abilities are pretty much natural, and although they've probably improved through practice, instruction from another is not a big factor in how they got their abilities. I tend to think of psions as being people who've gained their abilities largely through the instruction of another. I'm kind of a mixture of both. I already had use of abilities before I knew anyone taught others how to use them, then I learnt a few techniques from the internet, now most of my techniques are original again but I have knowledge of others' techniques to draw upon.

I have nothing against anyone using the term psion but currently i use the word psychic. Maybe its cos im English and were not as modern with words or maybe its jus cos im old fashioned Nah, i think its the whole natural thing. Everyone is born with these powers, its just our will to unlock them.

It's psychic, in my mind. Psions are the offshoot, those who deal with materializing or in some form moving energy. TK.

hmm all of this is very interesting. Of course we'll see what happens in the future..which term lasts. Possibly both could, but I doubt it.

I think it depends. To be a psion is somebody that uses only their energy to get what is desired, whereas most other things will use energy from other sources. Alsp, psions will never have rituals or ceremonies, and will never be overly concerned with self-betterment. To me, psionics is watered down magick.
