In the bible it is written god condemns witchcraft and sorcery because it involves blatant idolatry and paganism with that being said isn’t practicing witchcraft is a sin and I did research about witchcraft and they all say that they do not worship satan but in the bible it says they are worshiping satan so it is so confusing me and I don’t know if I have to still practice witchcraft and I also want to know what is your opinion about this. I think that's the bible basically because "god" didn't want you to work your own mircales.. He wanted you to work threw him.

Cor 12: tells us that God gave us all abilities. From my understanding witchcraft is not telepathy or precognition because their are bible figures who had those gifts and more. The same with PK and empathy.
Witchcraft to me is asking the devil or demon to grant you contol over something or someone. And Divination is like using tarot but on the other hand I know christians who use tarot for help people.

Who said abilities were witchcraft. And your definition of it doesn't come close. Also Divination is not limited to things like that. Like clairvoyance, that's called eye lid scrying or eye scrying..see what I mean?

I never said psionic ability is witchcraft. All I'm saying is the bible is very clearcut about witchcraft, and the one person was suggesting that he knew witches who said they were 'bible-compatible', if you will. Obviously that's not the case, so I decided to make that perfectly clear.
they're obviously not conservative christians. I wouldn't even call them christians - more like fake christians; this new brand of christians who don't actually read the bible, but just say they're christian because they think it's the hip thing to do. Ugh.

Or people who are too lazy or scared to find a religion more suiting them.

Fearn, I think that is the case for many people. Note that I am christian, I am not saying that my religion is wrong. I am saying that many people are christians out of laziness and that their parents are christian, not because that's what they actually believe. I personally find this very annoying.
On a side note I have read up (note really that much) on "witchcraft" and I notice similarities between it and psionics. However, I find these similarities akin to those between christianity and other religions. Many religions say that you should not kill, steal and lie. Those similarities don't mean the religions are the same however.

Ugh. I know christians like that.I know muslims, jews and atheist like that. But the point is the bible itself has been translated many of times. Some of the books have been left out.So to say that something didn't get messed up in todays bible that might be in the wrong context is debatible. So right now I stand on God gave these abilities to us to use for good or evil.Since the bible says He made man wonderfully and Fearfully. And I doubt if the prohets in the bible went to hell because their abilities are somehow divining the future and not God showing them the infomation.

Are we talking about different Christianity? The information was revealed to the prophets by god, not divining.
Has anyone ever read the book [you]The Alchemist[/you]? The main character uses two stones to divine the future, and someone (I think the glass shop keeper) said that this was the only way to see the future as a Christian.

There are some mistranslations like the mediumship originally meant no necromancer(or summoning of spirits) but I wasn't turned towards psionics, or the rest may have just been a way to seperate God's people from everyone else. ie the diff names. To keep his new people from he sins of the pagans or anyother people. Or my personal fav that you should really rely on yourself and your own intuition to discover the truth. Different people will give you diff answers.
Only you can discover your own personal truth.

How is that sad? It's not like Christianity is the only religion. There are others out there. Maybe you should seek for yourself to find the religion that fits you.

its sad because my religion doesn't let people explore, and instead dictates what or whatnot to do

ok so if its wrong, what about the animals and babies? they can pick up thoughts and stuff
and its not what you have, its what you do with what you have.
my bishop used the witch doctors we have here (we call them obeha people) as an example, they read palms and do voodoo and stuff like that. he said that their powers are real and God gifted them with it, but they chose to do bad with them, and what God gives he dosnt take back. also, about the idol worship thing, i didnt worship anything to develop my abilities, but there are people that get their abilities through demons, and that is wrong
